The Notes application on MacBook is a versatile tool for jotting down quick thoughts or even keeping a daily journal, however, some of your notes may contain sensitive information that you want to keep private and fortunately, the Notes application on MacBook provides a simple way to lock individual notes, ensuring that only you can access their contents and in this blog post article, is a step by step guide through the process of locking a note in the Notes application on MacBook as follows;

STEP 1 - Open the Notes application on your MacBook as seen from the screenshot below;

STEP 2 - Click on “Create a note” icon which is just next to the “Delete” icon which will open up a new empty note ready for editing/writing as seen from the screenshot below;

STEP 3 - While on the empty note window, write anything you want to as seen from the screenshot below then save it using “cmd + s

In conclusion, locking a note in the Notes application on MacBook provides an additional layer of security for your sensitive information and by following the above simple steps, one can ensure that only they, can access the contents of their locked notes.

STEP 4 - After saving it, check for a “locked lock” icon and click on it which should show an option written “Lock Note” as seen from the screenshot below;

STEP 5 - When you click on the “Lock Note” option, a pop-up will appear prompting you to enter the Notes password in order to lock the note as seen from the screenshot below;

STEP 6 - After entering the notes password, click on the “OK” button and that is it, your note will now require a password in order to access it as seen from the screenshot below;
